Diet Plan

As a rehab center for de-addiction, we focus on keeping a holistic approach when it comes to the diet of the patients. Keeping the nutritional factors in mind, we are providing our patients with balanced and a healthy diet. Health practitioners at the rehab center are well aware of the deficiencies that can accompany the symptoms of drug and substance abuse.

Alcoholism and substance intake affect the storage, metabolism, and activation of many vitamins and minerals which leads to deficiency of vitamin B6, thiamine, vitamin A and folate in the human body. Vitamin B12 plays a role in producing brain chemicals that affects our mood and other brain functions. A low level of vitamin B12 is linked to depression and mental illness.

Food

Hence, we provide nutrient-dense foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fish that help to decrease inflammation, reduce cell oxidation, and provide a healthful diet.

We also look after providing carbohydrates, the main source of energy to the body, in the regular diet of patients. Foods like poha, rice, idli, dosa, and upma aid in keeping stable blood sugar. Unstable blood sugar leads to anxiety. Drug users can often suffer from gastrointestinal distress so we offer a diet rich in fiber with rice, green leafy vegetables, oatmeal, and fruits, which help in eliminating stomach problems.

Energy-giving food like nuts, raisins, almonds, and apricots are served. Poultry, lean meat, and freshwater fish are also a part of their daily diet.

We also focus on keeping everyone hydrated. Sugar intake is monitored, and the patients are allowed to consume a cup of tea/coffee twice a day. Besides, we provide them with green vegetable juices and fruit juices.

The dietician of rehab monitors the physical health of all the patients. The diet plan is approved by the dietician. The weight scale of all the patients is kept on record, the underweight patients follow a specific diet chart. Through the above-mentioned plan, practitioners at the rehab can heal and nourish the patients and keep their moods stabilized. A regular cycle of diet is being followed and self-care is being encouraged.

Psychiatrists, Physicians, and Psychologists would be making daily visits to the patients.
